World Medicine Wins Pharma Export Title Again

A championship journey in pharmaceutical exports

World Medicine becomes the pharmaceutical export champion for the third consecutive time!

The “Stars of Export Awards Ceremony,” organized for the 10th time this year by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (İKMİB), was recently held. World Medicine maintained the leadership it had sustained over the past 2 years in 2024 as well. Holding the title of “the company with the highest pharmaceutical exports,” the company secured the leadership position for the 4th time in the last 5 years. World Medicine further reinforced this achievement by climbing 36 places compared to the previous year and reaching 342nd place in the overall ISO 500 (2024) ranking.

The “Stars of Export Awards,” organized annually by İKMİB to recognize and support the export achievements of its member companies, were presented for the 10th time. By maintaining its leadership in pharmaceutical exports for another year, World Medicine once again became the “Pharmaceutical Export Champion” in 2024. The company crowned its export success with its 4th championship overall and 3rd consecutive championship.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sohrab Mammadli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, said, “With the route we have set from Türkiye to the world, we are now a brand present in more than 65 countries. Being part of an organization where we receive the return on our efforts today is a great source of pride for us. As World Medicine, we continue to enhance our growth strategy by taking important steps that support our strength in production and exports. We have a consistent goal of exporting Türkiye’s medicines to the world, and we are moving confidently toward this goal.”

“Last year, we shared that one of our goals for 2024 was to once again become the pharmaceutical export champion. We are pleased to have achieved this goal today,” said Mammadli, adding, “With our state-of-the-art production facilities, we continue to increase our pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity day by day. We see that we achieve the goals we set each year through our investments. We have no doubt that we will also reach our goals in 2025.”

“With our investments, we will continue exporting Türkiye’s medicines to the world”

Mammadli stated, “At every step from the past to the present, we have followed a roadmap that contributes to the national economy. In doing so, we have also witnessed how our investments have opened new paths for us. Today, we are proud and pleased to see the results of our goals. As we move forward with our objective of exporting Türkiye’s medicines to the world, I would also like to share that we have made a significant investment that will strengthen our presence in the Asian market. We have started establishing a production facility in Uzbekistan, for which we laid the foundations with a USD 30 million investment. In addition, we commissioned our supplementary production facility, in which we invested approximately USD 37.5 million in 2022. We also have development plans for our Algeria facility, and by the end of 2025, we aim to further strengthen its technological infrastructure.”

Mammadli concluded his remarks by saying, “With the strength and determination that come from being the export leader in our sector, we will continue to expand our goals.”
