World Medicine Employees Ran for a Greener Future

As part of its commitment to the environment and its sustainability efforts, World Medicine once again ran with its employees in the 43rd Istanbul Virtual Marathon to support TEMA’s Tree Brotherhood project.

Tree Brotherhood is a nature education and afforestation project designed for children. For the past five years, the TEMA Foundation has been organizing charity runs at marathons to raise funds for the Tree Brotherhood Project so that more children can connect with the soil and get to know trees. Within the scope of the project, memorial forests are created on behalf of children. Thanks to this initiative, thousands of saplings have met the soil over the past five years in the Tree Brotherhood Memorial Forests in Balıkesir, Çanakkale, and Edirne.

To support TEMA’s Tree Brotherhood project for a more conscious generation and a greener future, World Medicine once again took part in the 43rd Istanbul Marathon this year. The virtual section of the Istanbul Marathon, which has been held online for the last two years due to pandemic conditions, took place on October 30-31. This year, a total of 389 runners from different fields supported TEMA Foundation’s Tree Brotherhood project by running for good in the Istanbul Marathon, and a total of TRY 421,152 was raised from 4,379 donors. As a result, 2,808 children gained the opportunity to receive nature education. In the Hayrettin Karaca Tree Brotherhood Memorial Forest, also supported by World Medicine, a total of 5,616 saplings were planted.
