World Medicine Decides to Invest in Uzbekistan
A major USD 30 million investment from World Medicine
World Medicine, Türkiye’s pharmaceutical export champion, has decided to establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan. The plant, which is planned to be completed with an investment of USD 30 million, is expected to become operational by the end of 2027. Ruşen Kalender, Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, said, “With this factory we are establishing in Uzbekistan, we aim both to meet the pharmaceutical needs of the region and to provide high-quality and accessible pharmaceutical services to surrounding markets.”
World Medicine, which exports the medicines it manufactures in Türkiye to the world, is extending its investments beyond borders. Preparing to establish a new manufacturing facility within Tashkent Pharma Park, developed as a modern industrial zone in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, World Medicine is strengthening its presence in Asia through this investment.
The Uzbekistan investment will serve as a gateway to the Asian market
Stating that they are preparing to establish a major facility equipped with advanced technology, Ruşen Kalender, Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, said, “This investment will open the doors of the Asian market to us. We have been present in the Uzbekistan market for years and hold a leading position among foreign companies. Kalender also stated, “We believe that this pharmaceutical manufacturing facility will strengthen the economic relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye from the very beginning of its construction phase,” and shared that they also aim to establish a laboratory equipped with advanced technologies for research and development in the future.
