Export Award for World Medicine
The “Stars of Export Awards,” organized by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association, have found their winners. World Medicine was awarded second place in pharmaceutical exports for 2019. Sohrab Mammadli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, said, “While we were exporting to 26 countries in 2017, we reached 35 countries in 2019. Through our investments, we aim to make Türkiye a main manufacturing and hub center and become the number one company in pharmaceutical exports in Türkiye.”
The Stars of Export Awards, held for the fifth time this year by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (İKMİB) to honor and encourage member companies for their export achievements in the chemicals sector, have found their winners. World Medicine was granted the second-place award in pharmaceutical exports for 2019 at the İKMİB Stars of Export Awards.
Following the award ceremony, which was held online as part of pandemic measures, İKMİB Chairman Adil Pelister personally presented the award to Sohrab Mammadli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, during a special visit.
“We export to 35 countries”
Expressing their satisfaction in adding another achievement in pharmaceutical exports, Sohrab Mammadli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of World Medicine, stated: “As World Medicine, we have been operating in Türkiye since 2011. In addition to our activities in Türkiye, while we were exporting to 26 countries in 2017, we increased this number to 35 in 2019. With exports to 35 countries, we aim to expand rapidly in the global market. Our goal is to become one of the top 15 generic pharmaceutical manufacturers.”
Emphasizing that they also aim to become one of the first pharmaceutical companies that come to mind in the Turkish market through rapid growth, Sohrab Mammadli said, “In the ‘Top 1000 Exporters of Türkiye - 2019’ survey announced annually by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), World Medicine rose by 60 places compared to the previous year and ranked 332nd among all companies operating in different sectors in Türkiye.”
